FIREX 4480 Hardwire Smoke Alarm includes a 9V battery backup
and a photoelectric sensor.
The Firex
photoelectric smoke alarms respond to slow burning, visible smoke caused by
smoldering fires. Designed for use in kitchens and furnace rooms, they
reduce nuisance caused by cooking fumes or high humidity.
The smoke alarm 9V battery backup provides the added
protection during power outages, when other electrical
equipment may fail. A red blinking LED will indicate that sufficient 9V
battery back-up is present for the smoke alarm.
The model 4480
is interconnectable to up to 18 Firex AC/DC units, 6 of which may be
Firex heat alarms. The 4480 smoke
alarm can be interconnected with Firex ionization as well as
a photoelectric smoke alarm for the best smoke detection system. When
interconnected with another Firex smoke alarm, the unit that initiates
the alarm horn throughout the system will display a rapidly flashing red LED, while the other
interconnected smoke alarm LEDs remain unlit.
The Firex
4480 smoke alarm complies with UL standard 217 and is backed by a 5
year limited factory warranty.
